Tessa and Tom- September 29, 2013

Tessa Reed (now Jaskowiak) had an autumn wedding to die for.  Her bridesmaids wore lavender dresses, yet she still managed to pull in all of the wonderful hues that remind us of fall.  Besides lavender, we mixed in deep purple, mustard yellow, different shades of green, and a warm splash of wheat for her bridesmaids’ bouquets.  Tessa’s bouquet was simply gorgeous, and consisted of bronze cymbidium orchids, blush calla lilies, amnesia roses, skeleton leaves, bunny tail grass, mini berzillia, and soft gold heather.  Her wedding was the perfect blend of sweet romance and bold autumn color.  It was truly a blessing to do this wedding…congratulations to you two!

Natalie and Ben- September 1, 2012

When you think of wedding flowers, one of your first thoughts is probably the bridal bouquet.  Every little girl dreams about her bouquet at some point in her life, playing "wedding" with her friends  and taking turns walking down the (pretend) isle.  Natalie Peliter (now Rahn) was definitely in the ranks of the "bouquet-dreamers", having had an idea of what she wanted for years.
Remember the awe-inspiring bouquet that Jessica Simpson had at her wedding to Nick Lachey? Natalie had always wanted her own version it, and here at Hyacinth we were up for the challenge.  This bouquet consisted of 350 stephanotis, with a pearl in each.  Every flower was individually wired, taped, and finally inserted into a vintage silver handle.  It took 8 hours to make, but the end result was worth it.  It is our desire to give every bride her dream bouquet!
Natalie was kind and sweet- very easy to work with.  It was a pleasure to do her wedding.  She was going for "romantic elegance", and she without a doubt succeeded.  It was a beautiful wedding, and all around a beautiful day.

Michelle and Roman– June 30, 2012

To us, Michelle is the picture of a classic bride.  Every time she came to the studio she had a huge smile on her face, and was so appreciative! When she came to Hyacinth she knew that she wanted an elegant and classic look. We knew we were working with eggplant dresses and wanted to come up with something fresh for an early summer wedding. What we ended up coming across was a color palette and floral types that gave it an English garden feel. With soft textures like lavender and queen anne’s lace, they added to the softness of butter yellow and lavender. We wanted to keep colors were muted with a pop of the deep eggplant to give them depth and contrast.

When the day of the wedding arrived, we had a ball setting up at the reception site and driving out to the church to deliver the personal flowers. Michelle and the bridal party looked stunning!  Once again, being there with them at that time gave us a feeling of affirmation that we absolutely LOVE what we do. Seeing faces of excitement, tears of joy, and anticipation of what is coming for the rest of the day – is the best feeling in the world! Thanks Michelle for the opportunity to be a part of that huge day for you and Roman. Blessings to you guys in your marriage!

Sincerely,
K + L

Casey and Dusty- June 22, 2012

Casey and Dusty. I love this couple and I’ll say it loud and proud. Casey is a good friend of my sister Randi, and it was truly a joy to work with her. Her and Dusty are the kind of couple that are up for anything.  They are fun loving and light up a room. When we first met with Casey, she had a couple of things in mind, but from there on we brainstormed! We were able to come up with a really soft palette that had lots of texture, and a feminine frilly touch for the bouquets. The blush pinks looked really sharp with the gray suits and Bridesmaid dresses.

When the final day came to deliver the flowers at first Methodist church in Minneapolis, we were in for a treat. It is such a blessing and encouragement to share flowers with someone who appreciates them so much! Casey made us feel like a million bucks! She looked beautiful and the pearls we worked into the wraps and the floral complemented the detailing on her dress and the bridesmaids jewelry perfectly.  The ceremony and reception at the fine line went off without a hitch!

These two are perfectly paired and now happily married. Thank you Casey and Dusty for making our work a pleasure!

Love,

Kari

Brianna and Zach- May 19, 2012

Even though its the middle of January, I can't help but feel a touch of spring fever today (its over forty degrees- unheard of for January in Minnesota!)  If I close my eyes and listen to the birds chirping, I can almost imagine that its wedding season again.  With my reminiscing comes memories of some of the beautiful weddings we got to work on last spring.

Bri was a bride that was near and dear to our hearts. She and her fiancé Zach had a long engagement, which was lucky for us, because we had a long time that we were able to work with her. She has such a cheerful personality, and gives a lot of attention to detail. Being a graphic designer herself, you could see her creativity come through in so many aspects of the wedding. Her photographer, Jen Meneghin did a wonderful job capturing these small details. Thank goodness for their originality and cameras! Just think- we might not have been able to remember all the nuances of planning and this special day without them.

Bri was our kickoff to the wedding season, and what a fun day it was! It was a beautiful May day, and the floral design made the statement, “welcome spring!”  She wanted a collected, vintage look that didn’t take itself too seriously. We used real sod on the tables—(kinda crazy!), but the fragrance of grass in the springtime is such a welcome thing!  Branches, twigs and pops of bright color with soft sage anchoring the look- you couldn’t have had a fresher feel!

One of our favorite things to do is to add an heirloom pin or bit of lace to our bride’s bouquet handle for her “something old.”  Bri had a lovely floral brooch from her grandma to give her bouquet that touch of whimsy and meaning.

Sincerely,
K + L
