Brianna and Zach- May 19, 2012

Even though its the middle of January, I can't help but feel a touch of spring fever today (its over forty degrees- unheard of for January in Minnesota!)  If I close my eyes and listen to the birds chirping, I can almost imagine that its wedding season again.  With my reminiscing comes memories of some of the beautiful weddings we got to work on last spring.

Bri was a bride that was near and dear to our hearts. She and her fiancé Zach had a long engagement, which was lucky for us, because we had a long time that we were able to work with her. She has such a cheerful personality, and gives a lot of attention to detail. Being a graphic designer herself, you could see her creativity come through in so many aspects of the wedding. Her photographer, Jen Meneghin did a wonderful job capturing these small details. Thank goodness for their originality and cameras! Just think- we might not have been able to remember all the nuances of planning and this special day without them.

Bri was our kickoff to the wedding season, and what a fun day it was! It was a beautiful May day, and the floral design made the statement, “welcome spring!”  She wanted a collected, vintage look that didn’t take itself too seriously. We used real sod on the tables—(kinda crazy!), but the fragrance of grass in the springtime is such a welcome thing!  Branches, twigs and pops of bright color with soft sage anchoring the look- you couldn’t have had a fresher feel!

One of our favorite things to do is to add an heirloom pin or bit of lace to our bride’s bouquet handle for her “something old.”  Bri had a lovely floral brooch from her grandma to give her bouquet that touch of whimsy and meaning.

Sincerely,
K + L
